What Are "Books for the Soul"?

"Books for the Soul" speak to the deepest, most significant part of our Being. Beyond the ingenuity, cleverness, erudition, poetry, and beauty of these texts exists an understanding of the Human condition and its place among the Earth, the Universe, and the Higher. In most cases, this understanding is conveyed as a sub-text lying gently beneath the author's general topic. It is expressed so that "those with ears" will hear and receive the intended message.

An Irish Philosopher, Mervyn Brady, dedicated his life to uncovering these lost treasures and returning them to the people in an accessible form. Through his lifetime of efforts he has bestowed the keys to unlock these treasures to any and all who desire them. By no means is Mervyn the only one, but he is definitely among a very special, and rare, few.

"Books for the Soul" were written by men and women, who, like Mervyn, understood the great mysteries of life and the divine fabric that weaves it all together. Through the study and digestion of these writings one may come closer to knowing oneself, truly, and realizing many, many great things.

It is the aim of Mercury Publications to help realize Mervyn Brady's ambition: to make accessible these buried treasures to all who may seek them. We long for "those with ears to hear", or, in this case, those with eyes to read.

About Mercury Publishing
In 1990 Mervyn Brady founded The Academy of European Arts and Culture. In 2004, Mervyn established Mercury Publications with the intention of returning to print the writings of Rodney Collin. Collin was one of Mervyn's favorite, and most influential, teachers. Thus, it is fitting that his legacy continues by continuing the legacy of "those who came before him". In mythology, Mercury was the messenger of the Gods. We aspire to aid in extolling the Gods' eternal message.

What's To Come...
In the near future, Mercury Publications will be pleased to bring the thoughts, writings, and understandings of Mervyn Brady to print. Perhaps his greatest asset, and gift to those who knew him, was Love. Mervyn knew the truth and beauty of Love--even in it's ugliest forms. He understood that to evolve as humans was to evolve in, and through, Love.
